Manufactured in 1948 during the transition period (late 1945-51). The carbine features a hooded ramp front sight, adjustable sporting rear sight and a receiver tapped for scope/sight mounting. Standard markings including the Winchester proof on the barrel and receiver at the breech. The carbine has a polished bolt numbered to the gun, late safety and cloverleaf receiver tang. The pistol grip stock features checkering, sling swivels and checkered steel buttplate.

Very fine. The carbine retains 97% thin original blue finish with a smooth brown patina on the buttplate, some minor muzzle wear and the bolt knob thinning to a gray. There are some minor scratches on the trigger guard. The stock is fine with a couple pressure dents and a number of minor handling marks. Overall the checkering is crisp.
