The early rare piece is from the Plains Native American Indians and shows a wonderfully beaded sheath and trade knife. The sheath shows wonderful sinew sewn early 19th century glass trade seed beads across the front with a fancy beaded top edge and beaded tassel. The tassel shows bead work on hide fringe with a early trade clothe strip and four coins. The 2 Cent coins are marked "L'UNION FAIT LA FORCE" (Unity creates Strength) and "LEOPOLD II ROI DES BELGES" (Leopold II King of the Belgians) with a lion, symbol of Belgium, with a paw over the Belgian Constitution dating 1831 (coins dated 1870, 1874, 1876). Also includes an early trade knife with a wood handle and inlaid nickel or pewter accent on the hilt area. The rare piece is from circa 1880's and shows very rare original good condition. Important piece of early beadwork. Sheath is 10"L x 3.25"W and has an additional 10"L fringe. Knife is 10.25"L knife with a 6.5"L blade.
