Period assembled double-action .31 caliber Cooper revolver with Colt model 1849 pocket model barrel. Grey patina finish, varnish wood grips, Cooper serial # 4596, pocket model number 66960. The pocket model barrel has been altered to fit the cooper frame and this pistol was assembled by a gunsmith or armorer during its working life, probably in the Civil War. The pistol shows a grey to brown patina finish, scattered light to moderate erosion and pinprick pitting, a replacement wedge at time of marriage, and a triggerguard screw is missing. The action is tight, the grips are good. The back end of the pistol matches. The barrel shows a two-line Colt New York address. Interesting. From the Robert Petersen Collection. Est: $250 - $500
