Edition originale de cet "hommage à l'effort et à la persévérance des défenseurs de la Concorde Universelle", auquel "la Société des Nations et le Bureau international du travail ont, pour une large part, contribué". L'édition résulte d'une "Enquête universelle de la Ligue mondiale pour la Paix sous le Haut Patronage de son Comité d'honneur avec l'approbation de la Société des Nations, du Bureau international du travail et de la Cour permanente de Justice internationale" (cfr titre complémentaire). Parmi les membres du Comité d'honneur, citons la Reine Elisabeth, de Marie Curie, de Destrée, Chamberlain, Benès, Einstein, Kellogg, Poincaré, Rockefeller, etc. sous la direction de Raymond Dejean.
L'ouvrage consiste en la reproduction de centaines de messages autographes émanant de personnalités de tous pays mais principalement de la "Grande Europe" : Allemagne (Einstein, Freud, Thomas Mann), Angleterre (Conan Doyle, H.G. Wells), Belgique (de Brouckère, Destrée, Jaspar, Henry Kistemaeckers, Maeterlinck, Vandervelde), Bulgarie, Danemark, Espagne, Estonie, Finlande, France (nombreux membres célèbres de l'Académie française ou de l'Académie Goncourt dont Colette, Haraucourt, Mauclair, Maurras, Poincaré, le ministe Aristide Bruant, Charcot, Clemenceau...), Grèce, Hongrie, Irlande, Italie, Lithuanie, Pays-Bas, Pologne, Russie... et aussi quelques pays d'Afrique, Amériques, Asie ou Océanie.
Illustré de reproductions de tableaux de maîtres anciens, de divers portraits (cardinal Mercier, Briand, Mussolini !...) et de compositions modernes gravées sur bois et tirées en couleurs par Jean Berque, Maurice Denis, Foujita, Mathurin Méheut, Bernard Naudin et F.L. Schmied.
Dans une reliure de Max Fonsèque (1891-c. 1965), ancien élève de Lortic, qui succéda à son père. Il semble qu'il ait réalisé un prototype pour cette édition car nous avons trouvé trace d'un autre exemplaire relié semblablement. 300 350 Euros

After full payment, buyers are kindly requested to take away their purchases immediately after the auction or at the bookshop the next Tuesday after the auction 230 av. Louise, from 2 pm until 6 pm.
Goods will be send only after customers’ payment.
Packing and dispatching are entirely at the buyer’s own expense.
Books whose price exceed 100 EUR will be send by registered post.

Payment will be made in Euro's. We do not accept credit cards neither cheques whose total amount exceed 200 EUR or cheques not validated for higher sum.
Terms of sale require buyers to pay immediately for their purchases, which means that lots will be released to them only when full and cleared payment as been received by us
In addition to the hammer price, the buyer has to pay a buyer’s premium of 21%, V.A.T. inclusive, all strictly in cash and in Euro's (EUR)
In case of original art and if the principles of the author’s rights are applicable, an extra 4% must be paid on each hammer price of at least 1250 EUR
All items are assumed to be in good condition unless otherwise stated. Buyers are kindly invited to carry out their own inspection of the lots they want to buy. All items to be auctioned are on view for several days prior to the sale.
Returning an item after the striking of the hammer will not be accepted, whatever the reason put forward. Those items bought on order must be inspected within 8 days after receipt. Any return after this term will be refused.
All items of the catalogue with the mention « n.c. » (non collationné = not inspected) are not subject to return. Neither are those sold in lots (two items or more) works consisting in multiple volumes and periodicals or series.
If you cannot attend the auction, we can execute written bids on your behalf. To ensure a satisfactory service, it is necessary to make arrangements for the services at least one day before the sale.
On every purchase Belgian law only is applicable, and all cases of dispute are exclusively to the competence of the Brussels Chamber.
