Silver blade sight, with a lightly swamped muzzle, engraving on the breech and tang, "IS" and London "V" and "GP" proofs on the upper left side, and "SEGALAS LONDON" on top of the barrel. Border engraved hammer and lock, with "SEGALAS" below the high-fenced flashpan, with a decorative finial on the frizzen spring. The Segalas family of gunsmiths was established in London by Israel Segalas, a Huguenot who left France circa 1685-1690. Full length stock showing raised carved designs around the tang, with an ebony ramrod, brass furniture including an engraved trigger guard with decorative finial, cut-through arms and flags design on the reverse plate, martial themed thumbshield and a grotesque face on the buttcap.

Condition: Very good, with signs of an old cleaning, showing a mixed gray patina and a few areas of pitting. The brass is fine, showing a dark patina in the lower areas. The stock is fine, with a few cracks, chips, some scattered hairline cracks, and some minor handling marks. Mechanically needs adjustment.
