Pair of Colt single action army revolvers, .38-40 caliber, 4-3/4” barrels, nickel plated, first generation, serial #320361 and 323687. With fancy western costume belonging to George Avak who was a fast draw artist and Colt spokesman during the 1950’s era. George Avak was billed as the fastest gun alive and worked in many TV and movie productions during the 1950’s and 60’s when fast draw was king. He worked on such classics as Paladin, Sugarfoot, Maverick, Cheyenne, and Wyatt Earp. The copy of letter on Colt stationary by Avak mentions the fact that the pistols were fully refinished for him by the Colt factory. These were display guns and not used for fast draw. The pair are in excellent as refinished condition. With good bores, tight actions, very good grips. Est: $2,500 - $5,000
