This is an original G.C. (Gerry) Wentworth wax sculpture titled "Dance Dude". Gerry Wentworth was a Great Falls, Montana artist who grew up in the era just after Charles Russell's life. He was largely self taught and spent the majority of his life working in painting, sculpture and wood carving. Wentworth's works have been widely exhibited in such places as the C.M. Russell Show, the Phippen Art Show and the Frank Tenney Johnson Show. In 1981, he won Best of Show at the Northwest Americana Art Show. This sculpture shows a whimsical scene of a gunfighter shooting at the feet of the other man. The piece shows wonderful detail and a sense of humor from the artist. The piece is marked "Dance Dude" and has been signed by the artist. The sculpture is in good condition. It measures 7.5" x 13" and is 13.5" tall. The sculpture comes with a printed biography of the artist and the rights for the buyer to have the piece cast.
