This is an original G.C. (Gerry) Wentworth wax sculpture titled "Muleskinner". Gerry Wentworth was a Great Falls, Montana artist who grew up in the era just after Charles Russell's life. He was largely self taught and spent the majority of his life working in painting, sculpture and wood carving. Wentworth's works have been widely exhibited in such places as the C.M. Russell Show, the Phippen Art Show and the Frank Tenney Johnson Show. In 1981, he won Best of Show at the Northwest Americana Art Show. This sculpture is a wonderful depiction of a cowboy holding a bullwhip. The piece shows fine detail and artistic talent. It is dated 1982 and has been signed by the artist. The sculpture comes with the rights for the buyer to have the piece cast and a printed biography of the artist. The original wax sculpture is in good condition. It measures 6" x 8.25" and is 17.75" tall.
