This is an original G.C. (Gerry) Wentworth sculpture titled "The Lookout". Gerry Wentworth was a Great Falls, Montana artist who grew up in the era just after Charles Russell's life. He was largely self taught and spent the majority of his life working in painting, sculpture and wood carving. Wentworth's works have been widely exhibited in such places as the C.M. Russell Show, the Phippen Art Show and the Frank Tenney Johnson Show. In 1981, he won Best of Show at the Northwest Americana Art Show. This piece shows a Native American Indian on horseback with a spear in his hand. The sculpture shows wonderful detail and artistic talent. It shows good overall condition with some minor shrink cracking as shown. The piece measures 9" x 14" and is 18.75" tall. The sculpture comes with a printed biography of the artist and the rights for the buyer to have the piece cast.
