Original Antique Oil Painting of Cardinal William Henry O'Connell, measures 20'' x 24'', circa early 1900's, painting is signed by the artist--however unable to identify FYI: ''William Henry O'Connell (December 8, 1859 - April 22, 1944) was an American cardinal of the Roman Catholic Church. He served as Archbishop of Boston from 1907 until his death, and was elevated to the cardinalate in 1911. (Bishop of Portland in Maine, Archbishop of Boston, and Cardinal) His 36-year-long tenure was the longest in the history of the Archdiocese of Boston. A few books were written about him such as Militant and Triumphant: William Henry O'Connell and the Catholic Church in Boston, 1859-1944 by James M. O'Toole, Ambition and Arrogance: Cardinal William O'Connell of Boston and the American Catholic Church - April 1, 2007 by Douglas J.
