Nightmare On Elm Street 5 Freddy Krueger (Robert Englund) Screen Used Blade-Glove Prop
Nightmare On Elm Street 5 Freddy Krueger (Robert Englund) Screen Used Blade-Glove Prop - In the epic horror series of "Nightmare On Elm Street" films and TV series, scared and crazed serial killer Freddy Krueger (Robert Englund) uses a glove, crudely fashioned with long razor-blades that jut out over its leather finger tips, to kill his victims in their dreams, which in turn causes their deaths in the real world. Few murder props have the visual power and recognizability as this iconic weapon. It has been replicated more than virtually any other horror prop. However actual hero screen worn versions are extremely rare. Throughout the series of films and TV series, many variations and versions of the gloves were made for production. In fact, within each production, numerous gloves were fashioned, both for the stunt sequences, the "walk-around" scenes, specialty and close-up shots, and for special effects, including sparking of the blades against a wall, and force-feeding a turkey dinner (with one of the blades becoming a spoon) to a troubling young lady! It is said that the inspiration of the glove came from creator-writer-director Wes Craven, as he watched his cat attacking his furniture in his house with "deadly claws"! This is one of those actual hero screen used gloves from "A Nightmare on Elm Street 5: The Dream Child" (1989). It was most likely used in one of the large action sequences. This extremely rare hero glove comes from the personal collection of legendary Special Effects Coordinator Andre G. Ellingson, who worked on many of the "Nightmares", including "Dream Child" (which he also acted in), as well as "New Nightmares", and the complete "Freddy's Nightmare" TV series. Andre is also known for his work on "Buffy The Vampire Slayer", and is now the Special Effects Coordinator for the smash hit TV series "Criminal Minds". The beautifully detailed glove, in excellent condition, comes with a Letter of Provenience from Andre, as well as copies of some of his personal photographs from the set. Special note: Andre Ellingson will be at our Fangoria Auction in person and on camera to discuss this hero glove and his other great items from his personal collection. Glove with blades are approx 14"x5".
