Offered for sale in this lot is a Navajo Native American Indian wool rug, woven in the Klagetoh pattern. The rug shows a central storm pattern medallion, flanked on all corners with polychrome geometric triangles. The background of the rug follows traditional Klagetoh design, showing predominately speckled grey color. The border of the rug is composed entirely of angular hooks, and shows a brown, and off white color pallet. The rug originates from the early 1900's, and shows fair condition. The rug does show some edge wear, and holes. This is truly a very early example and most likely from the Klagetoh, Arizona trading post owned and operated by Juan Lorenzo Hubbell. The rug measures 69 1/4" long, and 50 1/2" wide.
