Joe in her hometown of Whipperwill, this third phase chief's blanket features striking colors with hue's of white, grey, and black as well as vibrant shades of red and blue. The three phases composed what is called the Classical period of Navajo blankets, which ended with the arrival of the railroad to the Southwest after 1880. However, the tradition lives on and is captured by this hand made piece. The condition is good for the rugs age. Measures: 25" W x 26" H
