The shaman Native American Indian sits Indian style, Chanting prayers, banging on a small hand drum, in hopes of communicating with the spirit world. Shamanism encompasses the belief that shamans are intermediaries or messengers between the human world and the spirit worlds. Shamans are said to treat ailments and illness by mending the soul. Alleviating traumas affecting the spirit restores the physical body of the individual to balance and wholeness. The texture of the sculpture seems to capture the medicine man in an interval dimension between the earth and that of the spirit world; as though a certain mysterious vibration has taken hold of him, blurring the distinction of the lines of his body. The handmade bronze sculpture was molded using the archaic method of lost wax casting and stained with a brown patina finish for preservation and it is mounted upon a black marble base. Bronze dimensions with marble base: Height 13 X Width 10 inches. Weight: 25 lbs. Please Note: This is a reproduction bronze sculpture from the original molded and signed. This featured bronze sculpture is a recast after the original, and has been done recently. This 100% bronze sculpture is an abstract piece certain to be a conversation piece.
