This lot features two very different Native American beaded pouches. The first is a buckskin tobacco pouch, believed to be Plains Indian, with a simple floral and berry design surrounded by a circle of dark red beads. Other colors used are Red, Medium Green, Dark Green, Chalk White, and Yellow. The pouch has a buckskin drawstring and fringe as well. The beadwork is in good condition and mostly intact, except for two small portions of the circle. The second pouch is a fully beaded pouch with very complex floral designs on the front and back; it is believed to be Eastern Plains Indian. The artist used a myriad of colors including reds, pinks, blues, greens, and even crystal with a light blue line. The pouch is lined with beige trade cloth. The bag is in good condition for its age--possibly Early to Mid-Century. The pouch is in very good condition with relatively little bead loss. The larger pouch measures 6 1/8" tall, and 5 1/4" wide.
