This is a remarkable pre-historic Native American Indian Mound Builders Effigy pipe from the Ohio Fort Ancient Culture. The piece shows the unique shape of a shaman or medicine man transforming into a cat. The authentic piece dated to circa 1000-1650 A.D. and shows well preserved condition. The piece has the proper wear and craftsman marks indicative of its age and origin. The piece was sold at the Rago Arts and Auction Center premier artifact auction as lot 36 on March 1, 2009 with an estimate of $2000-$3000. Measures 3.25" in diameter.
