Massive English Flintlock Wall Gun by Barnett, dated 1802 on the barrel and lock plate, 1” diameter bore, 54-1/2” barrel, brass mounts, including brass tipped wood ramrod and full length wood stock. This monster is in overall very good condition showing a brown patina on the barrel, action and lock plate that was originally “in-the-white”; the markings on the barrel at the breech include four proofs and a heart with a “4” at the top and the interior of the heart made into four sections each with a letter (E, C, I and V) with the same markings on the rear of the lock plate. The action is crisp, the markings sharp and the bore has years of dust in it but appears good overall. The brass trigger guard and butt plate show a nice patina as do the four large ramrod ferrules. The stock is in overall good to very good condition with scattered nicks, mars and scratches under a nice patina; there are also several inspector initials and a stamping on the right side of the butt stock that is of the previously-noted “heart” marking. A later-made iron swivel and small modern wood block display support is included. From the Richard Wolfe Collection. Est.: $3,000-$6,000.
