Road manager, assistant, and friend of the Beatles who contributed to several of their recordings (1935-1976). Unsigned handwritten lyrics, one page, 5.75 x 8.25, no date but circa 1968. Entitled "The Inner Light" at the top, Evans pens the verses and chorus to the song: "Without going out of my door / I can know all things on Earth / Without looking out of my window / I can know the ways of Heaven / The farther one travels / The less one knows / Without going out of your door / You can know all things on Earth / Without looking out of your window / You can know the ways of Heaven / Arrive without traveling / See all without looking / Do all without doing / Yeah, Yeah, Yeah." In fine condition, with a crease to the bottom left edge. Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Tracks. Written by George Harrison, "The Inner Light" was a non-album single released in March 1968 as the B-side to 'Lady Madonna.' Praised for its melodic qualities and meditative experience, the song reflects the Beatles early embrace of Transcendental Meditation prior to the recording of The White Album. Evans wrote out the lyrics so that they could be used in the studio during the recording of the song.
