Acetate test pressing of Madhouse's second album, 16 (Paisley Park/WB 25658), from Bernie Grundman Mastering, sent directly to saxophonist Eric Leeds for his approval before being released. The disc is a verbatim representation of the final album as released. Includes the original Bernie Grundman Mastering sleeve, annotated on the front, "Paisley Park, 8-19-87, Madhouse, L.P."; signed on the back in black felt tip by Eric Leeds. In fine condition. In late 1986, Prince created Madhouse, an instrumental jazz/funk band to primarily feature saxophonist Eric Leeds. Two albums were officially released: '8' in early 1987 and '16' in late 1987. A distinguishing characteristic of Madhouse was that the songs were not titled, only sequentially numbered; this album featured their songs 9 through 16. Acetate test pressings are made of a material much more fragile than the vinyl used for production records, and they are made in extremely limited qualities. From the collection of musician/saxophonist Eric Leeds and accompanied by a letter of provenance.
