Elaborate Limited Edition Reproduction of a WWII Luftwaffe Issue M.30 Survival Drilling by J. P. Sauer & Sohn, #L1007, 12 ga.x12 ga. 2-3/4'' x 9.3x74R, 25'' bright blue finish barrels with 5/16'' matted solid rib, automatic 100 yd. square notch folding rear sight and wide blade front sight; European claw mount bases, full and half chokes, single crossbolt, double triggers with set front trigger, extractors and Greener style side safety. All chambers have eagle/N and Kiel proofmarks; the rib has a recessed panel with ''Luftwaffen Drilling M 30'' lightly etched in script. This circa 1980 limited edition version of the M.30 is based on a standard J. P. Sauer & Sohn scalloped-frame Model 3000 with a case-colored finish and light scroll engraving, side clips and locking top-tang barrel selector with cocking indicator pins. European comb pistol-grip stock and wide forend are dense straight-grained walnut with small shadow line cheekpiece and silver oval on toe line; checkering is 20 LPI and the finish is light oil, sling swivel loops are 3/4''. Length of pull is 14-7/8'' over a 1'' ventilated black recoil pad; weight is 8 lbs. The matching Zeiss scope is a DIAVARI-Z 2.5-10x52 T* in a gloss black finish with rail claw mounts; top of scope is etched in gold-filled script ''Luftwaffen Drilling No 1007''; scope is also individually serial numbered 1640994. The gun and accessories are highlighted in a matching luggage-style Huey gun case, numbered 1007, with a green faux suede French fit interior; accessories include an H. Krieghoff .22 WMR chamber insert, serial numbered 31107, ebony handle turnscrews and cleaning rods with brushes, gold plated snap-caps, a gold-plated Dixon oil bottle and unused single loop sling. Among the numbered matching documents accompanying the set is a reproduction of a 1941 M.30 instruction manual in German text, two test targets, the registration certificate and a 1996 dated Huey Gun Case registration card with two keys. Condition appears just off new with only a few minor indications of handling and assembly. Est.: $8,000-$12,000. (Modern)
