Lot of Two (2) WWII Theater Made/Modified Fighting Knives: 1.) Modified Model 1918 trench knife, 6-5/8'' unmarked blade, 11-3/8'' overall, brass knuckle portion of handguard appears to have been cut away with the remaining pieces re-shaped and polished. A plexiglass handle has been added as well. Spiked pommel nut is still in place. LF&C metal scabbard is marked near the throat ''LF&C/1918''; belt hooks have been removed and been fitted with a custom leather sheath. 2.) Theater made fighting knife from an unknown blunt-tip blade that measures 8-1/2'' in length; 13-5/8'' overall, aluminum guard and pommel, multi-colored stacked plexiglass washer handle with two (2) aluminum spacers. Brown leather sheath is stamped ''2288'' just above the keeper strap. The back is personalized but only partially legible ''To Jerry From: ??/??, Dec. 17,1943''. Condition to both is good overall, showing normal signs of age and wear. Est.: $600-$800/lot.
