Large and Unique Mid-19th Century American made Arkansas Toothpick, marked ''J.S. Silver Jr./Trenton, NJ'', 15'' double-edged blade, steel finial-tipped coffin-shaped guard, alternately grooved and checkered four-sided tapered American walnut grip, with steel round flat pommel nut. J.S. Silver is mentioned in several Civil War publications as a Union sword maker. Condition is excellent as lightly sharpened, with very small loss at tip. Etched panel maker's name remains 90% visible, with light carbon spotting to blade. Grips remains in excellent condition. Est.: $1,800-$2,400.
