Leo Beaulaurier, charcoal, Indian portrait, 16" x 12", framed.
Studied art at Notre Dame and the Art Center of Los Angeles. Born and lived in Great Falls, Montana. Painted several New Deal era murals for western post offices in the 1930s and 40s. Served in the Army Air Corp as a pilot in WWII. Worked with family in construction following the war; became a professional artist in 1963. Had a studio in downtown Great Falls Montana Power Building. Especially well known for his paintings of Native Americans portraits and scenes. Painting a gift to Scotty Zion from his friend, Chuck Louttit, 1970s.
