Lada Gaga Music Video Bullet Casings
LADY GAGA - Spent blank ammunition rounds from “Born This Way” video. This lot of five spent ammunition casings were utilized by the “Eternal Mother” character portrayed by Lady Gaga in the 2011 video for her song “Born This Way”. The blank ammunition was fired onscreen by the singer from a modified live firing M249 Squad Automatic (SAW) machine gun, as seen in the video. Lady Gaga used this ammunition prominently in several key scenes of the video. During the “Birth of Evil” sequence, the “Eternal Mother” character appears to give birth to an automatic weapon before shooting multiple rounds from the gun. “Born This Way” was the title track off Lady Gaga’s second studio album and became her third number-one hit in the United States. The song debuted on Feb. 11, and after just three days of release, broke iTunes sales records and became the 1,000th song to top the Billboard singles chart. The song charted within the top five in more than twenty-three countries and became number one in fourteen of them. The song was equally well received by critics and drew favorable comparisons to Madonna’s classic dance anthem “Express Yourself”. The video was released on February 28, 2011 and within a single day became one of the “Most Viewed” and “Most Discussed” videos in numerous countries as reported by YouTube, and has been viewed over 26 million times as of this writing. These unusual collectibles from the video are rare historical artifacts from the career of the controversial singer whom Elton John has referred to as “the most adventurous and talented star of our age.” The casings were one of a limited number collected at the end of filming by the weapons supplier who provided and oversaw their use on the production, and are accompanied by signed certification.
