<B>LEWIS TEEL (1883-1960)</B></I><BR><I>El Capitan</B></I><BR>Oil on masonite<BR>30in. x 36in.<BR>Signed lower left<BR><BR>Lewis Teel started his career as an engineer and draftsman. He subsequently received training in commercial art. By 1927, he was painting full time. Teel is known for his desert landscapes. The <I>El Paso Times</B></I> called him "master in his presentation of far distances, especially noticeable in the scene of lovely quietude, far away blue shadows on the mountain, and soft light in the foreground."<BR><BR> <B>Condition Report:</B> Excellent condition.
