Cuban boxer (1910–1988) who enjoyed success both in the ring and in society life during the 1930s; he became Cuba's first world boxing champion when he knocked out defending world Junior Lightweight champion Benny Bass. Scarce pairing of vintage matte-finish 3.25 x 8 full-length photos of Kid Chocolate, one showing the Cuban boxer wearing a handsome suit, and the other of him sitting down in his boxing gear, both signed and inscribed in Spanish in fountain pen and dated "4–29–31." In overall fine condition, with two small holes to the top of each photo.
