This is a true treasure! From Mel Brook’s beloved “Spaceballs” (1987). Filled with wonderful comic actors, and great parody’s of Star Wars icons, the most popular was John Candy as Barf, playing a half-man, half-dog (as he says, that made him his own best friend). As an obvious nod to Star War’s Chewbacca, Barf is Lone Star’s (Bill Pullman’s) constant companion. When hero Lone Star, and Barf infiltrated Dark Helmet’s (Rick Moranis) headquarters, they do the big movie cliché “sneak attack” by overcoming two guards, and then putting on their uniforms to get inside. Of course the big joke is that Barf’s guard is half his size, however his uniform still fits (and just happens to have a hole for his tail)! This is John Candy’s hero screen used silver guard jumpsuit that he wears throughout the battle scenes in Helmet’s complex. It is made of spandex with retro 1950’s “B” space movie mandatory black raised stripes and ribbing, along with huge black plastic circles with clear plastic, and of course a hole at the rear for his “Cowardly Lion” like tail. The costume has “JC #1” on the inside collar. And a zipper. An interesting note: the costume also has a small tear over the rear end on the right side. It has been repaired, and actually if you look carefully in the movie, you can actually see the repair on the screen. If only Candy was around today to tell us how he got it! The suit comes with a formal Certificate of Authenticity. And it comes in extra large “John Candy” Size”. This is a rare and truly wonderful. This is an oversized costume and will require extra shipping charges. (Approx. 61x23).
