Dignified 4.25 x 6.5 cabinet portrait by Carl Pietzner of Vienna (so noted on the bottom and reverse), capturing Strauss in bow tie and impressive mustache, signed and inscribed at the top in German in purple ink “To the charming Fritz Singer as a memento of friendship, Johann Strauss,” adding “See you in Vienna,” along the bottom. Small ding to Strauss’ mustache and the writing indistinct in places due to irregular ink flow, otherwise condition is fine. Seldom seen in photos of this size and quality.
