Jenks ‘mule ear” percussion carbine, .54 cal., 24” round barrel, side hammer breechloader; browned barrel, wood stock, brass mountings, #NVSN. This gun is in overall good to very good condition showing approx. 70% original muted brown finish on the barrel, dark patina on the lock plate, very good bore, crisp action, sharp markings including “Wm Jenks, USN, RC, P, and 1846” on the top barrel flat at the breech. The wood stock is in overall good condition showing scattered nicks, mars and scratches from carry and storage; saddle ring mounted on the rear portion of the trigger guard. Est.: $1,000-$2,000.
