Produced at an unknown date, this katar was later upgraded by adding a pair of box lock percussion pistols to the support arms, running parallel to the blade. Measuring 25 1/8" in overall length, with a blade measuring 14 1/2" long and 2 9/10" wide, with wide double fullers, reinforced tip, Damascus pattern steel and light floral engraving at the base. The hilt measures 11 1/4" long and 3 7/10" wide, with dual grasping bars, concave support arms, and a pair of box lock screw barrel pistols, clamped and screwed into position with light engraving to match the blade, and one marked "TIPURIZ" on the side.

Condition: Good as period modified, showing a mixed gray patina on the katar, with a few areas of brown discoloration and scattered pitting and handling marks. The Damascus pattern is strong on the blade. The pistols are in similar condition, showing traces of a blue patina. Mechanically very good.
