Hopi Painted Wood Plaque by Ben Seeni
Unique Native American Hopi Painted Cottonwood Plaque by Ben (Benson) Seeni (1931-1999) of Polacca, Arizona, measures 8''D, signed on the back, probably from the late 60's or 70's, does have paint loss and staining, FYI: ''Ben was originally from Walpi on First Mesa. He lived from 1931-1999. He was an innovative artist. In addition to carving kachinas, he was the first to make katsina puppets (''jumping dolls) which have jointed limbs. His Kachina Dolls were not made to be sold, they were made to be given away. Ben never sold his Kachinas and only traded with other Hopi's.''
