Highly desirable Winchester Model 1866 “Yellow Boy” lever action rifle, .44 cal., 24” octagon barrel, blue finish, case hardened hammer, trigger and lever, brass frame, fore end cap and butt plate, wood stocks, #154807. This Winchester is in overall minty condition showing approx. 99% original blue finish on the barrel assembly, considerable original case colors on the hammer and lever and a beautiful taffy colored patina on the brass frame and mountings. The bore is very good, the action crisp and the markings are sharp and clear; there are three British proof marks on the left top flat of the barrel near the breech and a proof mark on the frame at the front left side of the receiver’s top. The wood is excellent with considerable varnish remaining and just some scattered nicks and mars from carry and storage. An untouched ’66 that would display prominently in any collection. Est.: $20,000-$40,000.
