Mimeographed speech, five pages, 8.5 x 14, originally given by Truman at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, on February 15, 1964. Speech deals with the power of the president and the fact that there were no official records being maintained of all of the presidents’ papers and acts, which he believes need to be maintained to get a full understanding of the presidency’s workings. Signed and inscribed on the first page in black ballpoint, “To William Van Buskirk from Harry S. Truman.” In fine condition.
