Prolific British novelist (1856–1925) best known for such adventure fare as King Solomon’s Mines and Allan Quatermain. ALS, one page, 5 x 8, Ditchingham House, Norfolk letterhead, December 11, 1923. In full: “I beg to thank you for the Xmas Number of The Bookman which you have kindly sent to me. It is a beautiful production.” Creasing, intersecting folds (a vertical fold through the end of his signature), few rust stains at the top left of the page, and a few collector’s notations in pencil at the bottom of the sheet, otherwise fine condition.
