ALS as president, one page both sides, 4.5 x 7, Executive Mansion letterhead, December 25, 1895. A warm Christmas greeting from President Cleveland to L. Clark Davis, editor of the Philadelphia Public Ledger. In part: “This has been a great Christmas here in this house today for which you are in part responsible. I want to thank you for your share of the disturbance…We have all been happy—the little ones and the big ones too.” In very good condition, with separation along the center horizontal mailing fold, light wrinkling, uniform toning, and show-through from handwriting on the opposing sides. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope addressed by Cleveland.
