Offered for your consideration is this Griswold cast iron large No. 12 skillet with No. 12 "Self Basting Skillet Cover". The skillet and the cover are in very good shape, with no cracks and a smooth cooking surface. The lid features the raised lettering on the outside: "Griswold No. 12 Self Basting Skillet Cover". The inside of the lid has four rings and reads "Patented Sept. 22, 1925. Erie PA., U.S.A. / 472". The center of the lid features a large block Griswold cross logo. The bottom of the skillet reads "Cast Iron Skillet / 12 / Erie, PA., U.S.A." The large block Griswold cross logo is in the center. The Large Block lettered logos on both skillet and cover date the items to between 1920 and 1940. With cleaning and conditioning, these items will be ready for use. The skillet measures 14" x 19" and is just over 5" tall with the handle.
