Single German silver bead sight, with a fine Damascus twist pattern to the barrels, light engraving at the rear of the rib, a Liege proof on the underside of the left barrel, "MM 44" under the right, and a matching serial number on the breech. Scroll engraved lock plates and hammer, with "VINCENT & FILS" on the right lock in gold lettering with silver borders and "A. PERIGUEUX" on the left in the same style. Checkered pistol grip stock, with a ribbed and engraved silver forearm tip, burst pattern wedge escutcheons, silver trigger guard with floral engraving and matching number, raised cheekpiece, raised carved scroll designs behind the grip, engraved shotgun buttplate and a clamshell patch box lid. With an ivory tipped ramrod. All items in this lot fit into a large hardwood case with brass inscription plate, handles and corner reinforcements, with a French cut green velvet interior and all the following accessories; a two piece shotgun cleaning rod, a one piece pistol cleaning rod, single cavity pistol bullet mold, multi-chamber shot mold, brush with concealed nipple pin, reversible nipple wrench, screwdriver with storage compartment, patch cutter, wooden mallet, and a set of powder flasks, one for the pistol with a checkered pattern, and a larger one for the shotgun with a raised scene of the Greek goddess Diana. Also included with the lot, with spaces in the case to match, are a pair of swords with sheaths. One of the blades is a "court" style dress sword, with a 29 1/2 inch triangular blade with etched decorative panels, smooth pearl grips and a gilt brass hilt with raised scroll, floral and geometric designs, a pair of insects on the pommel, and a crowned eagle backed by lightning on the languet. Sheath is black leather with engraved gilt brass fittings. The other is a fine saber, 29 3/4" dual fuller blade with an etched leafy vine pattern up 2/3rds of the spine and etched vine work, martial arrays and sunbursts in panels on each side. Copper plated single branch brass hilt, with vine engraving down the back, wire and leather wrapped grip, and a black cord leading to a gold fringe portapee. Sheath is black leather with brass throat and tip. A superb arrangement of arms, perfect for the man who has everything but a shotgun, 2 swords and a brace of pistols.

Condition: Very good as refurbished, with a gray patina on the barrels and locks, scattered pitting, a fine Damascus pattern and scattered dents and handling marks. Stock is good as refinished, with some fading of the current varnish, a small amount of filler on the left side of the buttstock, and some light dings and chips. Silver components are very good, with a fine polished color and light handling marks. Lock plates are slightly loose, otherwise mechanically fine. The case is fine, with a warped and cracked lid and mild wear overall. Accessories are very fine to excellent overall. The court sword is very fine, with some light spotting on the blade, a small filled in chip on one grip panel, light scuffs of the leather and excellent gilt finish. Saber is very good, with a small amount of pitting, a mixed patina on the hilt, and some scuffing and dings on the sheath.

B) Engraved and Silver Fitted Percussion Pistol with French Merchant Markings
Blade and notch sights, with a fine Damascus pattern on the barrel, engraving on the casehardened breech and tang, and a Liege oval proof on the left flat. Floral and checkerboard engraved lock and hammer with "VINCENT/ & FILS" in an oval on the lock. The stock shows a fine grain, with an ivory tipped ebony ramrod, engraved silver forearm tip and trigger guard, plain silver wedge and screw escutcheons, an oval inscription panel behind the tang, a carved dotted checkerboard pattern on the wrist and a flared butt with carved floral patterns and a silver clamshell cap box lid.

Condition: Very good. The barrel shows a mixed brown patina with strong Damascus pattern and some light spotting and handling marks. 60% of the original bright color remains on the casehardened parts, strongest in the protected areas with a gray and brown patina forming. The stock is good, with a few small cracks around the breech, light pressure dents and attractive carving and grain. Hammer will drop from half-cock on trigger pull, otherwise mechanically very good.



C) Engraved and Silver Fitted Belgian Proofed Percussion Pistol
As B, with "A. PERIGUEUX" on the lock plate. The stock shows an attractive burl grain pattern.

Condition: Good as partially refinished, the barrel shows a strong Damascus pattern with a mixed brown color and some light spotting. 75% bright original color on the casehardened parts, with a gray patina forming on the rear of the buffed, recolored lock plate and a few patches of brown. Stock is revarnished and repaired, with a mended patch on the right side of the trigger guard finial, a small crack near the lock plate, mild pressure dents and attractive grain. Ramrod tip is cracked. Hammer will drop from half-cock, otherwise mechanically excellent.
