Blade is 31 inches long, single fuller with an etched vine on the spine and etched panels on either side running 17 3/4 inches up, with niter blue finish in the low areas and gold on the high areas. Each side is decorated with a mix of scroll and martial designs, along with an Iron Cross. The left side is marked "Weissenburg, Worth, Sedan, Artenay,/Orleans, Chateaudun, Chartres", and the right marked "1870/1874" and "Ihrem hochverehrten Commandeur/die Kameraden des Fussilier Bataillons/ten Thuringischen Infanterie Regiments No 32" (Our Beloved Commander/The Comrades of the Fusilier Battallions/Thuringen Infantry Regiment Number 32). Gold washed hilt, with a lion head pommel, crossed rifles on the right languet, dog head rear quillion and a wire wrapped grip. With a black enamel finished sheath.

Condition: Very fine. A small amount of spotting and handling marks visible on the blade, which shows over 95% of the attractive gold and niter blue finishes. Some mild wear is present on the grip and hilt. Sheath is fine, with areas of brown patina. Grip is fine.
