The top of the left barrel is marked "GEORGE GIBBS, 39 CORN ST BRISTOL 450/400 3 1/4" SOLID MEDAL CASE" and the top of the right barrel is marked "&35.SAVILE ROW. LONDON. VI AXITE-400 GRAIN [illegible]." The rifle has a ramp blade front sight with flip up sight and an express rear sight graduated 100, 200 and 300. The British proofed barrel flats are stamped "CORDITE 60-400 MAX" and "400 EX." The barrels are also numbered to the gun. The boxlock action has a tight scroll engraving with the water table having double "crown/V" proofs and the serial number. Double triggers and tang safety with "SAFE" in gold. The forearm is numbered to the gun with the release lever having the number "12499." The checkered pistol grip stock has an engraved grip cap with compartment, sling swivels, cheekpiece and solid Decelerator recoil pad. Included is a 450/400 die set and approximately 100 brass 450/400 casings.

Refinished. The barrels retains 95% of the blue finish showing some thinning to a gray with some minor pitting under the forearm. The receiver has a smooth gray patina with some bright case colors on the water table and under the break lever. The wood is good with some minor handling marks and recut checkering.
