Arcus, pegmata, iconesq[ue] à Pet. Paulo Rubenio [...] inventas & delineatas inscriptionibus & elogiis ornabat, libroq[ue] commentario illustrabat. Accessit Laurea Calloana eodem auctore descripta. Antverpiae, veneunt exemplaria apud Theod. a Tulden qui iconum tabulas ex archetypis Rubenianis delineavit et sculpsit. Prostant apud Guilielmum Lesteenium, & Henricum Aertssens, (excudebat Ioannes Meursius, 1642). Grand in-f° : [12 dont le titre gravé]-189-[13] pp., illustrations in et hors texte (défraîchi : pet. mouill. marginales et pet. taches, grossières restaurations à qqs pl. qui ont parfois des petits manques, planches lég. rognées). Rel. moderne : demi-veau à coins (dos quasi absent, coins épidermés).
Commémoration de la Joyeuse-Entrée du Cardinal-Infant Ferdinand d'Autriche à Anvers le 17 avril 1635. L'ouvrage fut publié 7 ans plus tard, soit 1 an après le décès de Ferdinand.
Le plus célèbre des livres de cérémonies, illustré d'après Rubens d'un titre,- d'un portrait de Ferdinand d'après van Thulden,- de 41 cuivres en 37 planches hors-texte souvent dépliantes, gravées par van Thulden d'après les décors conçus par le peintre ou figurant le plan de la ville ou encore un feu d'artifice sur la Grand' Place,- et de 46 in texto figurant pour la plupart des monnaies romaines.
EXEMPLAIRE DE CHOIX :
- avec les PLANCHES NON NUMÉROTÉES (état non signalé par les bibliographies), sauf les pl. 3 et 23, 24, 25, 31, 32, 34 et 43, mais avec l'endroit où elles doivent être placées gravé. Les pl. 17 à 22, présentant la suite des empereurs, est d'ailleurs reliée d'une façon différente de celle présentée dans les ex. collationnés et signalés par la Bibliotheca Belgica,
- ENRICHI du portrait de Ferdinand d'Autriche à cheval par Pontius d'après Rubens (dans les ff.lim.),- et d'une des rares planches ajoutées présentant les détails du portique impérial (celle-ci intitulée "In te spes inclinata recumbit"), gravée par Bolswert et reliée p. 145.
Le plan de la ville d'Anvers, n° [42], est relié in fine de l'exemplaire.

After full payment, buyers are kindly requested to take away their purchases immediately after the auction or at the bookshop the next Tuesday after the auction 230 av. Louise, from 2 pm until 6 pm.
Goods will be send only after customers’ payment.
Packing and dispatching are entirely at the buyer’s own expense.
Books whose price exceed 100 EUR will be send by registered post.

Payment will be made in Euro's. We do not accept credit cards neither cheques whose total amount exceed 200 EUR or cheques not validated for higher sum.
Terms of sale require buyers to pay immediately for their purchases, which means that lots will be released to them only when full and cleared payment as been received by us
In addition to the hammer price, the buyer has to pay a buyer’s premium of 21%, V.A.T. inclusive, all strictly in cash and in Euro's (EUR)
In case of original art and if the principles of the author’s rights are applicable, an extra 4% must be paid on each hammer price of at least 1250 EUR
All items are assumed to be in good condition unless otherwise stated. Buyers are kindly invited to carry out their own inspection of the lots they want to buy. All items to be auctioned are on view for several days prior to the sale.
Returning an item after the striking of the hammer will not be accepted, whatever the reason put forward. Those items bought on order must be inspected within 8 days after receipt. Any return after this term will be refused.
All items of the catalogue with the mention « n.c. » (non collationné = not inspected) are not subject to return. Neither are those sold in lots (two items or more) works consisting in multiple volumes and periodicals or series.
If you cannot attend the auction, we can execute written bids on your behalf. To ensure a satisfactory service, it is necessary to make arrangements for the services at least one day before the sale.
On every purchase Belgian law only is applicable, and all cases of dispute are exclusively to the competence of the Brussels Chamber.
