French High Art double barrel Flintlock Fowler converted to percussion with fancy high relief hallmarked silver mounts carved stock signed “Guillemin–Lenbert” in fancy scroll signature on each lot plate. Thebarrel shows gold damascene on blued background with fancy engraving and marked “Canon Tordu De Aux” the gold work extends 17-1/2” down the breech and on the rib towards the barrel and there is a goldsunburst around sight measuring almost 3“. The barrel shows 50% blue and gilt drifting to brown. The locks have been lightly polished, the stock is a light colored walnut, in nicely carved and checkered andshows a light old re-varnish but no sanding and fancy checkering still fairly sharp. The trigger guard shows high relief silver with hanging game, florals and urns which his repeated with florals on fore end cap, silver thimbles retain ramrod and fancy high relief silver butt plate showing scrolls, hunting dogs, birds and game.
