This lot contains a classical French folding game table. The table was handcrafted for export to America by Vincent Rose. The table is etched "Made In France 1740", the provenance provided by the seller attributes the table to around the 1830's. The table is constructed in two halves - the sturdy bottom, and the removable folding top. The table sits prominently on wheeled claw feet at all four corners, and a hand carved center support column, with exceptional detail and craftsmanship. The table top has an octagonal shape, when folded, it can be placed flush against a wall. The table is in good condition, especially for the age. There is obvious wear on the table top. The table measures 35 5/8" wide, 29" tall, and 17 3/4" deep (When the top is folded in half).
