For bidding in this lot is a complete collection of the "Franklin Library's 100 Greatest Book of All Time" series. Franklin Library was one of the largest, and most sought after publishers of fine leather-bound books, from 1973 until their permanent closure in 2000. The 100 Greatest Books of All Time series was produced between 1974 and 1982, and included 100 volumes, all bound in full leather, showing 22k gold leaf adorning the text block, and sewn on book marks. The tell tale sign your collection is a true Franklin Library set, and not a faux leather imitator is the book mark. The collection includes prominent titles, such as; Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen, The Basic Works of Sigmund Freud, The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald, Five Comedies by Aristophanes, Canterbury Tales by Geoffrey Chaucer, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll, Moby-Dick by Herman Melville, and many, many more! The collection is complete, and additionally includes a separate collection of editors notes, one small booklet for each novel. The books themselves also show very-good condition overall, some books show more wear than others, though most are like new! The largest book is a copy of Leo Tolstoy's "War and Peace", which measures 9 1/2" tall, 6 5/8" wide, and 2 5/8" thick.
