Fr. 1133-G $1000 1918 Federal Reserve Note PMG
Fr. 1133-G $1000 1918 Federal Reserve Note PMG Choice Very Fine 35. The Chicago District is the third most common with twenty-two serial numbers listed in Track & Price. Tom's is included in that group and is listed as an AU making it tied for third in the census. The two Uncirculated pieces listed in the census are both permanently impounded--one in the Smithsonian and the other in a Federal Reserve Bank. No Fr. 1133-G graded higher than XF has ever been auctioned, and the highest third-party graded piece to sell publicly was a PCGS 20 that realized $16,100 in March 2007. PMG has noted "Restoration", but we failed to see it when the note was raw, and upon close inspection now, we are unable to locate any restoration save for a single closed pinhole--that certainly is not to say that it doesn't exist, but at the very least, it is non-distracting.
From The Thomas M.
