Manufactured circa 1859 to 1868, this is a Series III Navy Type revolver with a 5-shot cylinder featuring standard oval panels and the patent date. The top barrel flat is marked with the one line Newark address. Matching serial number on the barrel lug, frame, trigger guard, back strap and wedge. Fitted with a one piece varnished grip.

Condition: Very fine. The barrel retains 90% bright original high polish blue finish showing some speckling of brown. The cylinder retains nearly all of the scene and traces of original blue in the protected areas, otherwise a smooth gray patina. The loading lever, frame and hammer retain 85% original case colors. The grip straps retain 85% original silver plating. The grip is very fine with most of the varnish remaining, some minor handling marks, and a deep pressure dent on the right side near the bottom. Mechanically fine.
