Exceptionally Rare Documented World War II Japanese Type 14 Nambu Pressure Test Pistol

This is a rare example of a late WWII Japanese Type 14 Nambu pressure test pistol with this example being produced by the Nagoya Arsenal. This beautiful all original pistol has been extensively discussed and written up on pages 168-170 of the reference book: "Japanese Military Cartridge Handguns 1893-1945" by Derby and Brown. This pistol as noted is the only example to have survived WWII as manufactured by the Nagoya Arsenal and may have been the only one to ever have been manufactured there. As noted in the pictures upper barrel assembly of this example has been extensively modified by the Arsenal for use as a pressure test pistol. As noted it the article it is serial number "1" and has all matching parts to include the magazine. These pistol were manufactured using original Nagoya Arsenal parts, that were machined, fully assembled and finished. The purpose of these pistols was to specifically check the pressures and quality of 8 mm Nambu ammunition as manufactured by the various ammunition companies during WWII, just like the U.S. military also during WWII. As noted in the article the left side of the slide has the full arsenal markings, while on the right side it is only marked with the Nagoya Arsenal mark and no other markings or proofs, as it was never going to leave the factory. It has never had an extractor installed as it would not work
