This lot includes an exceptional ancient Native American Indian Hardin spear point, originating from Fayette County, Illinois. The large point measures 10 3/4" long, and displays random flaking, elliptical shape, and a prominent acute shoulder, with a very subtle concave base. Points such as these are most common in the Midwest region of the United States, and typically date between 10,000 - 7,500 B.P.. This excellent example of a Hardin spear point shows characteristics of local chert. The point is in good condition, and is preserved in a riker display case. The point measures 2" wide and 10 3/4" long.
