Excellent Swiss Model 1955 Straight Pull Bolt Action Sniper Rifle
This model was introduced in 1955 and is built on the Model 31 action and is fitted with a 25 3/4 inch barrel which is fitted with a muzzle break and bayonet lug. The top of the chamber is marked with the Swiss cross and the matching serial number is marked on the breech end of the barrel, left side of the frame, bottom of the magazine, and on the bolt. The rifle is equipped with a 3.5 power Kern Aarau sniper scope which is numbered to the gun. The top of the scope is marked "1690 / KERN AARAU / V=3.5 / star =75 0/00". The left side of the receiver has integral bases and the scope and mounting rail are all one piece. The front sight is a shrouded blade and the rear sight is the tangent style graduated to 1,500 meters. There is an integral folding bipod mounted about mid stock, ahead of the magazine. Mounted with a one piece Beech pistol grip stock with checkered grip area, forearm finger grooves, steel buttplate and matching handguard. Complete with a correct leather sling and gray painted scope tin correctly numbered to the gun. The barrel is imported marked.

Condition: Very fine, with 80% plus original finish. The forward portion of the barrel has a smooth mottled gray patina, while the remaining surfaces retain almost all of the original blue finish with a few minor scratches and handling marks. The bipod shows some thinning and a number of minor scratches. The stock is very good with scattered minor dents, dings and scratches associated with a military weapon. The scope is excellent on the exterior and the optics are crystal clear. The sling is good. The scope case is excellent. A nice Swiss Model 1955 sniper rifle with all matching numbers.
