Manufactured in 1958 this is a stellar example of an early Second Generation Single Action Army. One line address on top of the barrel, the left side marked "COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY .45". The left side of the frame is marked with the two line, three patent date marking followed by the un-circled Rampant Colt. The left front of the trigger guard is marked with the Colt "VP" triangle proof, the rear is marked "P" and the right front is marked with a "0". The matching serial number is marked on the frame and under the grip on the left side of the front and back straps. The frame is casehardened and remaining parts are blue with polished hammer sides. The revolver is fitted with black checkered two-piece grips with the Rampant Colt in an oval at the tops. Complete with the original black hinged lid box numbered to the gun, bore brush, original waxed paper and papers.
BBL: 5 1/2 inch round
Stock:
Gauge: 45 Long Colt
Finish: blue/casehardened
Grips: plastic
Serial Number: 23002SA
Condition: Excellent with 99% plus original blue finish with only a few faint scratches on the barrel. The cylinder shows a very faint drag line and the revolver appears to have been fired little if at all. The frame retains virtually all of the original bright case colors. All markings are sharp. Grips are near new with a few very tiny dings on the lower edges and sharp checkering. Box is excellent.
