Manufactured from 1864 to 1872 with total production approximately 3,300. The sides of the scarce 4 inch long three superposed barrels have a geometric engraving at the breech and a light band of engraving at the muzzles. The left side of the frame has the maker and patent dates marking. The frame sides have floral scroll engraving with a geometric engraving on the back strap. This scroll pattern was standard only on the first fifty pistols. Fitted with pearl grips. Barrels are numbered to the gun.

Condition: Very good. The barrels retain traces of original blue finish in the protected areas with the balance mostly a smooth gray patina. The brass has an attractive untouched patina with a crisp engraving. The grips are fine also very good some minor handling marks. Action needs work.
